Incoming freshmen and transfer students are required to attend START, Oregon State University's summer advising and registration program. START is the first step in OSU's three-part student orientation program. More information is available on the START website.
If you're a visiting student, you will need to obtain "non-degree admission" status before you can register for undergraduate or graduate classes. A "non-degree" student is an admissions classification for those individuals who are not fully admitted to Oregon State as degree-seeking students at the time they register for classes. A non-degree admission does not mean you are not seeking a degree, either at OSU or elsewhere. For complete details on how to apply for non-degree admission, visit Non-Degree students on the OSU Admissions Office website.
