Congratulations to our Weeks 2, 3, 4 and 5 winners of the #myOSUsummer photo contest. Thank you to all who submitted - we received more than 100 creative, fun entries!

Good news! We're extending the contest one more week, so keep them coming - and maybe you can be the next $50 Visa gift card winner. All you have to do is snap a photo that shows how you (yes, you - we want to see people in the photos!) celebrate summer on campus, tag it #myOSUsummer on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, and wait to see if you're a weekly winner. The grand prize winner will receive a $250 Visa gift card.

The final week of the contest is underway and ends this Sunday, July 31 - so start snapping away!

Academic Coaching

Here's how academic coaching can help you

Book an appointment today with a peer academic coach from the Academic Success Center.

A coach can help you determine next steps for upcoming obstacles you may face, including planning for a challenging course, preparing for an exam or managing a large course load. Common discussion topics include time management, test preparation, test-taking, procrastination and stress reduction.

Call the Academic Success Center at 541-737-2272 or stop by at Waldo 102.

  Bard in the Quad

"And I, forsooth, in love - I have been love's whip."

Pack a picnic and join us in the MU Quad next month to enjoy a fun Corvallis summer tradition - Bard in the Quad. Tickets are on sale for this year's event, which features William Shakespeare's charming romantic comedy, "Love's Labour's Lost."

The show begins at 7:30 p.m. and runs Aug. 4-7 and 11-14.

OSU Summer Session is a proud supporter of Bard in the Quad.

The business of water

While there is a growing need for professionals who seek to specialize in water conservation, management and sustainability, water is also an important facet of national security, corporate investment and business sustainability.

In this class, WRP 599, you'll take a transdisciplinary approach learning the "business of water," where you'll develop important business skills needed for a variety of water-related jobs.

Your new skills will be tested through various "serious gaming" activities, and you'll also enjoy weekly field trips to places such as the EartH20 Bottled Water Plant and Wilsonville Water Treatment Plant.

Teaching music in K-5 classrooms

Remember that music teacher who inspired you to pick up a guitar, learn the piano or sharpen your vocal chords? What if we told you that could be YOU? Well, it can - and this class will help you on your way.

In MUS 599 - Music for the Classroom Teacher, you will gain experience leading music activities, teaching basic music concepts and using music to enhance instruction in other subject areas. With a focus on grades K-5, you will also learn to write and implement lesson plans to be used in the classroom.
