Email Accounts

Registering for an OSU summer class gives you the option to have an Oregon State University email account, which is called your "ONID" address. Having an OSU Network ID (ONID) provides you with the following services:

• Email (username@onid.orst.edu, 250MB per user)
• File storage (1024MB per user)
• Personal web pages
• UNIX shell access
• Access to other services (campus modem pool, Blackboard, ResNet, IS computer labs, Interlibrary Loan, plus more)

How to Sign Up

To register* for your ONID account, follow these steps:

• Go to the ONID homepage.
• Click on "sign up for ONID"
• Enter your OSU ID# & GAP# and click "submit" (your OSU ID# is your 9-digit randomly generated number - not your SSN).
• Next screen says: "Welcome Your Name." Read and accept policy statement and click on "I agree."
• Set new password. WRITE DOWN YOUR NEW PASSWORD! Scroll down and click "proceed."
• If you have another email address that you would prefer to use, follow directions to forward your new ONID email account to your preferred email account. All email from your instructors will be routed to your preferred email account.
• Next screen says "Your ONID account has been created." Your new user name will be displayed - WRITE IT DOWN!
• Click on "Login to ONID"
• ENTER new user name and password and CLICK "Login." Next screen says "Welcome Your Name."

* Students will have to register for at least one class and wait at least 12 hours before they are able to sign up for an ONID account.
