Transfer Students
Will summer 2008 be your first term at OSU?
For transfer students wishing to start a degree program during Summer Session, they must first apply, meet eligibility requirements for admission, and be officially admitted as for any other term. The admissions deadline for summer 2008 is May 1, 2008. For information concerning application deadlines and admission requirements, new degree-seeking students can check the Office of Admissions website, or call them at 800-291-4192. Be sure to connect with your advisor if you would like advising help.
Are you admitted for fall term 2008, but interested in taking summer classes?
“What I liked most about summer session was the pace of the courses. Things moved quickly enough to not get boring while the environment was relaxed enough that it wasn't stressful.”

BS, Computer Science
Summer is a great time to get acquainted with college life because classes are smaller and more one-on-one communication with professors is possible. However, if you are a transfer student officially admitted for fall term 2008 and decide to begin classes during Summer Session, you must notify the Office of Admissions in writing so that your admission can be updated and your eligibility for registration established. Orientation Program - START
START, summer advising and registration program, is the first step in OSU's three-part student orientation program. If you are a transfer student or new to OSU, you are required to register for and attend one START session in order to register for fall term classes at Oregon State. Space in each program is limited, and preregistration is required.
Transfer students with 36 or more transferable quarter college credits will participate in START. For orientation dates, visit the START orientation website. Registration for the START program will begin after May 8, 2008. You can also stop by New Student Programs and Family Outreach, B009 Kerr Administration Building, to preregister.
For more information, call 541-737-7627 or 800-291-4192, option 8.
