International Students

Oregon State students come from all over the world. OSU boasts nearly 28,000 students from more than 90 different countries, including 3,200 international students. Summer at OSU is a wonderful time to be on campus and enroll in sessions that are designed to last anywhere from one to 11 weeks during the months of June, July, August and early September.

Students studying inside the Memorial UnionWhen to apply

If you are currently outside the United States and plan to begin your bachelor's program at OSU during summer term, we recommend that you submit your application for admission and supporting documents four to six months prior to the start of the term. Applicants to master's or Ph.D. programs should refer to their prospective department for details regarding admission terms and application deadlines. For more details, check the OSU Graduate School's website.

If you are currently in the U.S. on another school's I-20 and wish to enroll at OSU during your vacation period only, please submit the online application for nondegree students. Consult with your home institution's international student advisor, or contact an OSU international student advisor by email at isas.advisor@oregonstate.edu or by phone at 541-737-6310.

U.S. Immigration Regulations

Due to U.S. immigration regulations, it is not possible for international students who reside outside the United States to attend OSU only for summer term. However, if you are regularly admitted to OSU, you can choose to begin your degree program in summer term provided that you enroll as a full-time student. International students who are currently attending a U.S. institution and wish to attend OSU during summer term are encouraged to consult with their home institution's international student advisor.

After you are admitted

All newly admitted degree-seeking international students must complete an orientation and immigration document check-in within the first few days of arriving on campus. Please contact International Student Advising and Services to schedule an appointment with an international student advisor.
