International Students
OSU students come from all over the world! During an academic year, OSU has nearly 1,000 international students from more than 80 different countries.
When to Apply
In order to be fully admitted for classes beginning summer 2008, international applicants must submit a completed application, along with all required documents, by January 1, 2008 (if outside the U.S.) or March 1, 2008 (if in the U.S.). Applicants for some graduate programs and for graduate assistantships must meet earlier deadlines, some of which may be in early January. Check the OSU department's website for specific admission and assistantship deadlines.

U.S. Immigration Regulations
Due to changes in U.S. immigration regulations, it is no longer possible for international students who reside outside the United States to attend OSU only for Summer Session. However, if you are regularly admitted to OSU, you may choose to begin your degree program in summer term. International students who are currently attending a U.S. institution and wish to attend OSU during the summer term are encouraged to check with their institution's international student advisor.
International Orientation Program
At the beginning of each term, International Student and Scholar Services holds a mandatory orientation program for new international students with the purpose of providing valuable information and facilitating an easier transition into the university environment. By participating in the New International Student Orientation, you will gain essential information about:
- Immigration rules and regulations that affect your visa status
- Student health services and health insurance requirements at OSU
- Academic life at OSU and how to register for classes
- Campus and community resources
- Opportunities to meet other new international and domestic students at OSU
Visit the OSU International Programs website for more information. If you would like assistance from an academic advisor, don't hesitate to seek advising help.
