OSU Freshmen
Welcome, freshmen! You are about to start an exciting new chapter in your life.
"Everyone is in a better mood in the summer. . . . Things are just a lot less hectic and a lot more relaxed. The classes are smaller and it's a great opportunity to get to know your professors better."Jon Lewis, Instructor, English

How do I register?
If this is your first time registering for classes at OSU, you will want to review the registration steps outlined on our site. Be sure to connect with your advisor if you would like advising help.
Orientation Program - START
Most likely, you have already received information about START, OSU's summer advising and registration program (the first step in the OSU three-part student orientation program). If you are new to OSU, you are required to register for and attend one START session in order to register for fall term classes at Oregon State. Space in each program is limited, and registration is required.
Students with 35 or fewer transferable quarter college credits or who have never attended a university will participate in a First Year START session. For orientation dates, visit the START Orientation website. Registration for the START program will begin May 1, 2013 and can be completed online or at the New Student Programs and Family Outreach office.
