For all other details concerning their benefits, students must contact the Veterans Administration directly. If you are a veteran and expect benefits from the Veterans Administration, notify the veterans certifying official in the Registrar's Office (102 Kerr Administration Building) at least 60 days before you hope to receive your first payment. OSU spring term students who wish to continue benefits must verify their intent with the veterans certifying official. Call 541-737-4331 for more information.
Having Problems Registering?
First, check your eligibility to register. You may also be experiencing problems with one of the following:
GAPs
In web registration, you will be asked to enter your General Access PIN (GAP). Your initial GAP is your 6-digit birthdate (mm/dd/yy). This initial GAP is set to expire upon your first entry into the information systems. At that time, you must choose a new GAP, other than your birthdate. You also have the option to enter some confidential information about yourself as a prompt should you forget your GAP and need to obtain a new GAP.
Should you forget your GAP, enter your student ID# and click on the "Forgot GAP?" button. You will be asked the security question you established. If you answer the question correctly you will be able to reset your GAP number. If this fails please contact the Registrar's Office, 541-737-4331, 102 Kerr Administration Building.
Time Conflicts
Web registration will not permit you to register/waitlist two classes that meet at the same time. If, however, you and your instructors agree that it is appropriate to schedule two time-conflicting classes, register for the first course by web. With approval from both instructors involved obtain a time conflict override from the Registrar's or departmental office. Once this is done you will need to log back into your online services and register for the second course.
Special Approval
Some classes require consent (approval) of the department. "Departmental approval" will appear in the Schedule of Classes for classes needing this approval. Examples are independent study, projects, research, thesis, reading and conference, music audition, and studio art courses. See the offering department for approval. When you have approval, the department will "clear" you to proceed with web registration; you must then register or add this class to your schedule on your own.For More Information
